About

In July of 1955, six members of the Washington, DC, Alumnae Chapter of Phi Mu met at the home of Betty Walsh and made plans to organize a new chapter in Northern Virginia.

These six members contacted all known Phi Mus in Northern Virginia, who numbered about 300. The area was to include Arlington and Fairfax counties and the cities of Alexandria and Falls Church.

Twenty-two alumnae attended the first "September Starter" meeting.  Today, Northern Virginia Phi Mu Alumnae Chapter continues its mission to provide sisters in the area with a host of activities to encourage a lifetime of sisterhood.
